The success of our R&D Software team has inspired a progressive, Remote-First work model. This format allows our staff the benefits of a primary, work from home-office as well as, the value of collaborative engagement. When meaningful & purposeful opportunities occur, our Remote-First teams may gather in-person at hub locations (Pacific Northwest, Pacific Southwest, Midwest and Texas).

Dexcom R&D is seeking tenacious change agents with exceptional analysis, communication, and facilitation skills to bring visibility to our highest priority questions and drive initiatives that address them. As a SW Strategy and Operations Analyst, you will collaborate with key leaders and cross functional teams to develop strategic initiatives and process improvements for SW R&D, and develop compelling narratives that motivate and distill complicated issues for executives and development squads alike. This position reports to the Director of SW Development Engineering (Operational Excellence). This position will present opportunities to ramp into other functions such as program and product management, as well as broad exposure to Dexcom leadership in preparation for a SW development executive / leadership career track.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Data Driven Insights (analytical)

  • Conduct analyses to answer priority questions for senior leadership to support ongoing development and release planning, such as:
    • Estimated resourcing requirements to plan for future releases
    • Projected completion date for feature development informed by historical velocity and known constraints
    • Projected bugs volume to inform expected delivery timeline
    • Development sprint metrics to inform squad and program performance
  • Develop, build and implement tools / trackers / dashboards leveraged by technical and program leads to drive visibility into key program activities and processes

Catalyzing Operational Change (strategic)
  • Spearhead strategic initiatives and process improvements with key delivery leads to continue to build and augment program capabilities, such as:
    • Release cadence strategy target state and enablement roadmap
    • V&V strategy for upcoming releases
    • Process optimization for key program capabilities (e.g., localization / translation, risk rating, documentation tracking)
    • Program communication plan to streamline regular meetings and drive efficiencies across teams
  • Develop materials to communicate highest priority topics and drive alignment across stakeholders on key program decisions:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on messaging and framing of critical decisions / questions
    • Drive content creation for readouts to SW R&D leadership
  • Support Dexcom's commercial priorities by bridging the gap between engineering and commercial teams, and developing actionable roadmaps for key features

Required Qualifications

Technical
    • Proficient in Powerpoint and Excel
    • Experience with qualitative and quantitative analyses (e.g., financial modelling, data analysis, budget management etc.)
    • Experience working with Jira and Agile Ways of Working preferred
  • Non-technical
    • Self-starter with ability to drive analyses and initiatives independently
    • Strong communication skills to drive alignment across stakeholders
    • Experience working in fast-paced environments
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Track record of creative problem-solving driven by strong business sense
    • Ability to manage complexity while driving clarity
    • Ability to ramp up on new topics quickly

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Medical Technology
  • MBA preferred.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
