As a Stockroom Attendant you will load, unload, and move material within or near plant, yard, or work site and perform the following duties:

  • Read work order and follows oral instruction to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Read production schedule, customer work orders, material pick list, bills of material, shipping orders or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Sort and places material on racks or shelves. Arrange stock in specific sequence for assembly.
  • Load and unload material onto or from pallets, trays and shelves by hand. Receives, unpacks and examines goods received and verifies completeness against receiving documentation.
  • Keep records of goods received. Assembles and verifies accuracy of goods being shipped by use of materials, installation drawings and material pick list. Coordinates outgoing freight. Loads material into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Convey material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Secures lifting attachments to material and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operator to move load to destination.
  • Count, weigh, and record number of units of material moved or handled on daily production sheet. Attaches identifying tags or labels to material or marks information on cases, bales or other containers. Loads truck for industrial truck operators.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, clears work area, machines and equipment to assist machine operators.
  • Assemble crates to ship products in.
  • Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving material and products. Enters transactions into company database for inventory accuracy.
  • Follow established safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Employee must demonstrate an attitude which portrays their ability to get along with others, function as a team player, accepts constructive criticism from their supervisor and follow work rules.

Required Skills:
  • High school diploma or General education degree (GED) with a minimum of three years related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
