The Student Engagement Coordinator will play a vital role in enhancing the student experience by developing and implementing a wide range of engaging and enriching activities. Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics & Student Life, the coordinator will be responsible for creating a comprehensive program that encompasses cultural, recreational, and social events.

  1. Works collaboratively with students and staff to plan an annual schedule of student engagement opportunities and student organizations for enrolled students. Coordinates programming during the college Activity Period and other days/times in an effort to increase student engagement and club/organization participation.
  2. Plans and monitors all aspects of the Student Engagement cost center including fund expenditures and the preparation of budgets. Ensures that all required financial forms relating to expenditures are complete and accurate.
  3. Manages all aspects of Student Engagement office. Train and oversee the day-to-day tasks of a Clerk IV, department staff, and work study students.
  4. Coordinates and provides direct oversight to the management and operation of all student clubs/organizations/groups.
  5. Advises the Student Senate-Promote success, teambuilding, and leadership programs for all student leaders; Update/manage policies and procedures for the Student Senate; Collaborate with division and departments to provide student leaders for college committees, search committees, and projects including implementation of college Strategic Planning.
  6. Collaborates with departments, programs, and the EDI committee to offer accessible, diverse, equitable, and inclusive opportunities as a pathway to increase student engagement and retention amongst underrepresented and marginalized student groups.
  7. Provides support to campus initiatives that participate in various promotional events.
  8. Develops appropriate metrics to collect, analyze, evaluate and assess data. Develops annual goals and priorities that align with the college's strategic plan, with an emphasis on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  9. College Service: Chairs the College Affairs committee; Leads the organization of all aspects of Commencement; Attends college and statewide meetings; Serves as the Academic and Student Affairs liaison to SSBIL Division.
  10. Other Duties (i.e. Attend professional staff, department/division meetings; Attend job specific conferences and workshops and shares information with colleagues and supervisor; and Participates in regular professional development opportunities.)


  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or closely related field;
  • Six years' experience and/or training that includes student activity planning/coordination, leadership development and interpersonal relations;
  • Experience overseeing college student activities program;
  • Experience supervising professional staff;
  • Budgeting experience;
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communications skills;
  • Proficiency in creating and using multi-media presentation modules;
  • Ability to develop and market innovative student programs;
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel Services/Administration, or closely related field;

Salary Range: Grade 5; Salary Range: $58,320 - $62,057/year; Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Full State benefits. Hours: 37.5 hrs./weekFunding Source: State
