Job Summary:

The EVS Training Supervisor functions under the direction of the Director of the Environmental Services (EVS) Department to support the hiring, training, continued education, and competency of EVS Team Members. This role serves as a primary point of contact for new hires, enhancing their overall onboarding experience and contributing to their acclimation within Wellstar. This role also ensures cleaning education and processes are in place to support quality patient care, infection prevention, customer experience, and regulatory readiness.
The Training Supervisor also supports the department by ensuring the cleanliness of Wellstar facilities. The Team Member works across all department shifts to support training and cleaning validations and continuously make rounds of the campus to determine special assignments and/or project work it needs, to ensure all employees are completing all daily work assignments and are complying with all Wellstar and department policies and practices.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Training Education Supervision a. Supervises all training and learning for EVS team members to include: providing hands on training and competency assessments, managing course enrollment, and tracking and reporting learning activities b. Responsible for record keeping related to training, including ensuring accuracy of onboarding data and completion of data for regulatory compliance purposes c. Assists new team members to deliver orientation and eLearnings for new hires; determines access/equipment needs, provides coordination and logistics support for live/virtual programs, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants and facilitators. d. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish training goals; anticipates education needs for the department, and works independently to ensure training is executed to meet the needs of the department Onboarding Supervision a. Welcomes new team members and serves as an onboarding resource for new team members, including managing welcome communications for all new staff, contractors, and transfers to the department b. Disseminates next steps communication to all new hires on Day 1 and other communication as requested by leadership d. Supports EVS leadership in providing an impactful onboarding experience to all new team members e. Acts as the department's primary point of contact for new team members, hiring leaders, Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Human Resources Quality Safety Supervision a. Plans, schedules, oversees, and continuously monitors quality and quantity of daily and terminal cleaning assignments b. Manages bed control liaisons to ensure room cleans and room assignments are supported according to hospital needs b. Inspects, corrects, coaches, and provides one-on-one competency, development, and training of staff c. Maintains Wellstar Health System standards, including standards for regulatory readiness d. Supports department performance improvement (PI) projects and participates in multi-disciplinary inter-departmental PI projects and activities. Customer Service a. Practices and ensures the consistent use of AIDET scripting. b. Understands and supports all patient and internal/external customer satisfaction measuring tools. c. Uses appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively perform Service Recovery. d. Embraces the idea that we are all owners of our health system. Additional Duties a. Tracks and reports on key metrics. b. Ensures that data is up to date and creates reports to show progress. c. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent Required or Associate's Degree or 2 years of college Preferred

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 3 years supervision in housekeeping/environmental services in the Healthcare, Hospitality or Class A Commercial field Required
Experience using computers Required

Required Minimum Skills:

Ability to train, lead, motivate and supervise personnel.
Ability to communicate both written and oral, with a diverse employee group and all levels of management.
Ability to demonstrate compliance with Wellstar/Department policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements.
Ability to train employees on all cleaning equipment and processes.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel). Familiarity with virtual training and meeting tools, i.e.: ZOOM and Microsoft Teams; and an aptitude for working with new technology or systems.
