Overview:
Supervises ride maintenance personnel in ride repair and in daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance and inspection of
amusement rides and devices. Ensures rides are maintained in compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and Company
standards. Ensures ride safety and maximizes ride availablilty. Periodically acts as Maintenance Duty Supervisor for entire
Division.
Schedules and Assigns tasks to Ride Maintenance personnel to accomplish required maintenance activities and
maximize ride availability.
Identifies and orders required parts and materials in a timely manner to accomplish both scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance tasks.
Monitors and directs ride maintenance activities to ensure the quality and effectiveness of all work performed.
Ensures employee and departmental compliance with all applicable codes, standards, requirements and best practices.
Manages assigned personnel in a professional, respectful, and effective manner.
Evaluates employees and initiates corrective actions to resolve performance problems and employee conflicts.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains employees while following established company policies and procedures.
Maintains accurate, organized, and up‑to‑date records of all work performed.
Prepares and administers budgets for selected ride repairs and ride rehab projects. Analyzes departmental operating
budget against current department performance, making adjustments and notifcations as needed.
Provides supervisory support for other departments within the Maintenance Division on a rotating basis.
Implements established safety, security, and loss prevention policies and procedures to ensure guests, employees, and
company property are safe.
Communicates department status to Director and Vice President on an ongoing basis, including maintenance issues,
employee concerns, guest complaints, special requests, losses, and any other unusual occurrences or situations in order
to maintain optimal departmental performance.
Ensures all PM's and corrective maintenance are completed on time.
Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO
policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
Other duties may be assigned.
This position requires the following education and experience, or an equivalent combination of both:
Education
Some College - a technical or administrative field
Experience
6 ‑ 10 Years Related Experience in a mechanical, electrical or ride maintenance
Minimum Age
At Least 21 Years of Age
Qualifications:
Ability to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical systems, including pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, gearboxes,
power transmission components,wire ropes, conveyor systems, and pumps.
Knowlege of general industry standards and procedures.
At least 5 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic, maintenance technician, or in a similar position.
Ability to use a personal computer and create and maintain accurate and complete records of work performed.
Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,
previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial
law.
