Essential Responsibilities

• Provide leadership & guidance for the supplier quality engineering department with a focus on supplier development related projects/initiatives.
• Develop, implement & maintain a comprehensive Supplier Quality Management process to ensure excellent quality at competitive cost of purchased materials, components and/or services.
• Utilize statistical techniques & six sigma tools to analyze processes & drive continuous improvement activities.
• Manage supplier non-conformance including root cause & corrective action holding supplier accountable (SCAR).
• Manage Quality escapes, root cause 8D investigation, containment/corrective actions, risk based escalation (as appropriate).Lead continuous improvement initiatives, quality system & procedure adjustments, to elevate quality, compliance, & efficiency of the supplier qualification process.

• Perform supplier audits, analyzes processes & procedures, risk mitigation assessments, provide technical support promoting productivity improvements & or cost reduction opportunities. Assess non-conformance / audit findings & lead closure of supplier actions as needed.
• Lead internal audits to ensure the effective implementation of QMS.
• Develop, collect & analyze Supplier Quality metrics quantifying risk/communicating risks to management while identifying solutions to mitigate risk.
• Issue Supplier Performance scorecard monthly to all inventory suppliers, implement supplier development plan with select suppliers.
• Support NPI (new product introduction) with regard to new product approval qualification testing.

Position Requirements

• BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial Engineering preferred)or Business Related disciplines
• Ability to prioritize, plan & evaluate deliverables to established strategic goals.
• Strong problem solving, influencing/ negotiation skills, strict attention to detail,ability to work well as a leader, independently & in a team setting.
• Able to speak/present information in front of groups, internal & external
• Knowledge of & adherence to Quality systems
• Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work in a team environment, with the ability to manage suppliers & project stakeholders
• Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships regulatory and policy requirements
• Effective interpersonal skills & good verbal/written communication skills
• Good computer skills including MS Office Suite. Fluent in English
• Position will required up to 25% travel.
• Due to ITAR/Governmental contracts, this position requires a US Citizen.
