Your Role:

Within the Life Science sector of MilliporeSigma, and as part of the Supply Chain Operations, 3rd Party Finished Goods organization, the 3PFG Supply Planning Expert is accountable for the following tasks:

  • Place purchase orders to suppliers, manage inventory levels, coordinate VMI (if necessary) for a specific finished goods product portfolio within our main distribution hubs
  • Provide quick and focused Supply Gap recovery
  • Coordinate procedures for the provision of goods between the participating interfaces
  • Review the purchasing plans with the contract manufacturer
  • Drive process optimization that leads to lower cost and optimize customer satisfaction
  • Execute long-term production planning in coordination with the contract manufacturer and operational procurement
  • Execute supply reviews with major contract manufacturers to prevent capacity bottlenecks and supply gaps
  • Feed into supply disruption process
  • Understand supply chain business practices and industry expectations
  • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present recommendations based on large data sets
  • Build interpersonal relationships between internal customers, suppliers, departmental resources and intra-company departments
  • Solve business issues and develop creative solutions in a team environment
  • Define countermeasures based on data
  • Manage multiple activities with changing priorities
  • Apply core concepts to new business models or strategies
  • Interact with other company departments in a positive and effective manner

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • 3+ years of experience as a planner/buyer, procurement, or supply chain role

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience as a planner/buyer, procurement, or supply chain role
  • APICS CPIM, CRIM, CSCP or other supply chain management certification
  • S&OP experience
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers/suppliers
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Business Objects/data warehouse systems, etc.)
  • Advanced skills and comfort in SAP, ERP environments and/or Oracle
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence suppliers
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, change-based environment
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
