Job Info
The primary responsibility for a nurse in the Semmes Murphey Surgery Center is to assist physicians during surgical procedures, and supervise and direct patient care before, during and after surgery. This includes charting, preparing rooms/instruments, patient education, and developing a plan of care. There are opportunities for both circulating and preop/PACU RNs, as well as PRN work.

Requirements
We are searching for a candidate who:
- knows how to adhere to OSHA/HIPAA guidelines as related to nursing
- is able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, visitors and coworkers in both positive and negative situations
- is able to comprehend and interpret verbal orders and direction
- can make frequent judgments and respond to routine problems
- will provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion
This position requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing, one (1) year experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center, and an active RN license. BLS certification is also required.
The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), electronic medical records, and medical practice software. Organizational skills with attention to detail are required.
