Description:
A Surgical Orderly is responsible for assisting the surgery staff and physicians in providing professional, quality, service-oriented care to the patient and family in the perioperative setting. Under general supervision, performs routine patient transportation and service duties such as stocking linens and delivering specimens; under the direct supervision of a professional nurse performs routine patient care duties. Call rotation is required.

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Preferred personal skills include: Personal drive to achieve, Commitment, Ambition, and Optimism
  • Preferred {not required} professional qualifications include: Prior patient care experience, and/or Working in customer service-oriented industries.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or sterile techniques preferred but not required.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse populations
  • Ability to adjust to a fast-paced, highly technical, and potentially every changing work environment.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy, values, mission, and vision of the organization.
40hrs per week, 11a-7:30p weekends and holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA
