Description:

JOB SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Receives emergency calls and appropriately initiates and completes the necessary procedure/protocol for Codes, Lockdowns, and Disaster for various locations, contacts security. Monitors various alerts. Maintains Code Logs on computer. Receives and transfers internal and external calls, handles patient information calls in accordance with Hipaa rules. Such as room numbers, telephone extensions, Physicians' offices phone numbers. Receives calls which require paging of physicians and other personnel, relays messages or call back numbers. Accesses computer system to retrieve accurate patient and department information as needed. Reports any computer, phone issues and safety concerns to the appropriate department or persons. Performs backup and other maintenance as required. Demonstrates the ability to get along well with patients, families, physicians, and peers. Maintains up to date knowledge of computer system and information changes. Performs miscellaneous duties such as announcing prayers overhead, patient mail, and other duties assigned by supervisor. Assists with training and teaching new employees. Enter On Call Schedules for departments and doctor offices Schedule Unattached PCP inpatients with new doctors We are the Answering service for Health Care Equipment Calls In Surgery Crew when needed Ability to pass auditory screening.
