Systems Administrator
Excentium, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran owned small business that provides Cyber Security Engineering, Information Assurance (IA), management, Certification and Accreditation (C&A), and other IT services to government and commercial organizations.

We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator supporting one of our Federal customers in the Bethesda, MD Area.

MINIMUM CLEARANCE LEVEL: Public Trust

LOCATION: Bethesda, MD Area and Remote Locations

Position Description:
Maintains data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management requests for information. Provides technical guidance to lesser experienced systems administrators. Performs other duties as assigned, which may require specific physical abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for activities related to system administration.
• Install, configure computer software and maintain its integrity.
• Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
• Provide documentation for System Administration, as needed
• Experience with DHA-SDD systems and applications a plus
• Conduct exhaustive functional testing on latest releases prior to enterprise-wide rollout
• Apply latest builds provided by the SCCM team to baseline medical devices in environment
• Develop installation procedures for newly configured hardware
• Conduct Version control for latest patches and track configuration changes provided in release notes
• Lead troubleshooting sessions in the event of hardware or software failure with multiple Medical Training Facilities across the globe
• Lead troubleshooting during site migration
• Assist ISSO in performing STIG check validation and maintaining observations in eMASS as part of Annual Assessment of the System
• Remediate POAMs discovered during Risk Assessment
• Maintain Server health by applying necessary upgrades and configuration changes
• Able to navigate and review CCIs within STIGViewer
• Participate in weekly technical working group sessions to share latest updates and potential issues affecting assigned systems
• Create user accounts and manage licenses associated with medical devices deployed at Medical Training Facilities across US Military bases worldwide.

​ Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology or other computing-related degrees or 6 years of IT systems administration experience in similar capacity.
• Preferred certifications:
  • Security+ CE
  • Network+
