Meta is the world leader in the design of virtual and augmented reality systems. Come work alongside expert engineers and research scientists to create the technology that makes AR and VR pervasive and universal. Join the adventure of a lifetime as we make science fiction real and change the world. As a System Integration Engineer, the ideal candidate will be the facilitator for execution and delivery of features and functionality enabling the delivery of prototypes and finally shipping world class products. In this role, the candidate will be the engineering interface to the hardware and component teams executing the designs for Meta's AR products and keeping management and technical leadership in a tight loop of status and decision making. The candidate will have a strong ability to communicate within the hardware organization and with cross-functional partner teams.

System Integration Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of AR Products and end-to-end AR Feature integration from Discovery through DVT phases
  • Lead the triage and resolution of AR and cross-functional technical issues that arise when "as-built" fails to meet spec design intent
  • Assist in the creation of team deliverables, milestones, HW allocations, prioritization, risk assessments, and planning to meet project and internal customer requirements
  • Support as a system expert the technical aspects of build plan, build goals, risk assessment, testing, troubleshooting, and system dependencies with the TPM partners that coordinate and plan build activities
  • Support the Systems Architecture team and HW Design Team in specifying requirements, features, implementation, and development
  • Support defect tracking and management within the hardware team and cross-functional partners
  • Communicate in appropriate media details of the execution of the design to spec

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated communications skills, problem-solving and project execution experience
  • 7+ years industry experience directly contributing to product development in hardware or hardware/software mixed organizations
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
