SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator will lead all IT operations within the facility. The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuous improvements within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system configurations and related procedures adhere to core organizational initiatives and strategic directions.

The Systems Administrator is accountable for the following systems: end user software installation, updates for MS Windows servers and desktops, MS Office products, SAP client, Adobe, Solid Works, Citrix, among others. The Systems Administrator tracks tickets using the Internal IT support helpdesk.

The Systems Administrator must have a "do whatever it takes" attitude with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Ensures the safe operation of all IT systems and processes within the facility.
* Implements IT system security in the organization to ensure safety of data and IT systems.
* Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
* Assist the company's network engineer for LAN and WAN updates as required.
* Oversees the management and maintenance of servers and work stations.
* Handles desktop support for all IT users in the factory.
* Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
* Provides expert technical support to all employees.
* Interacts with clients on a daily basis, able to see and understand their IT problems and provide competent solutions.
* Ensures smooth and efficient running of all IT systems in the organization.
* Keeps the management and/or employees informed on the various technological changes that are taking place in the organization.
* Communicates with top management in regard to IT related issues and trends.
* Identify new computer systems and trends in the market so that the organization's IT status is always on the forefront
* Ensures that the standard local licensing requirements are met and fulfilled.
* Assists in the training of users to ensure they are able to competently use computer software and hardware.
* Researches and recommends innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a normal office environment with minimal physical risks involved. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science highly preferred
* 5-10 years of IT experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Ability to move PCs and printers, lifting up to 40 lbs.
* Desired experience with Windows Server 2003-2012
* Desired experience with Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Office 365
* Desired experience with Network infrastructure including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wireless, printers, etc.
* Desired certifications MCSE, CCNA or similar.
* Must have a "go-getter" attitude

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
