Job Summary
The Systems Engineer - Power Electronics will focus on Vertiv 3-phase UPS New Product Development and legacy products. The individual will be responsible for new design changes or requirements and conceptualizing the solution. This includes drawing system-level schematics, selecting key major components, working with other development and test teams to productize a final solution, and implementing documentation in PLM system. Systems Engineers help develop design concepts from customer requirements and support new product development and legacy products. This position will develop product documentation, test plans, and review final designs and test data.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain system-level schematics for large 3-phase power products and uninterruptable power supplies.
  • Create and maintain system test plans with pass/fail criteria; provide engineering insight to test data as needed.
  • Provide design input to system component selection for new designs.
  • Take the lead engineer role for smaller projects as directed by the system engineering manager, including value engineering or alternate component sourcing.
  • Contribute to new product documentation during the release process
  • Provide technical support to UPS product engineers and service personnel for issues on field units.
  • Take responsibility for project tasks that are assigned to you and update task status in our project tracking tool.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years experience required
  • Prefer experience with large (>100kW) 3-phase power conversion and/or UPS systems
  • Prefer experience with large (>100kW) 480-600V 3-phase power lab testing
  • Prefer experience with MATLAB
  • Prefer experience with PTC Creo CAD software
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work with high voltage (< 600V) in a power lab environment, including lifting heavier objects or running cables or stepping over/around objects.
