Position Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist implements and manages Moderns US and Canada end-to-end recruitment and selection processes and procedures: sourcing, screening, scheduling interviews, making offers, etc. The Talent Acquisition Specialist ensures a sufficient volume of qualified talent to meet workforce needs by identifying, developing, and implementing sourcing initiatives. This position is also responsible for partnering with Hiring Managers and other Modern leaders to create an employment environment in which we are THE employer of choice in our community.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Understand the recruitment needs of the business units. Meets with requesting unit to review work responsibilities and observe work site to assure understanding of requirements.
  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies in collaboration with business units. Strategies should include; developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate recruitment sources for qualified and diverse candidates, utilization of a variety of effective advertising and social media, developing relationships with schools and programs that graduate qualified candidates.
  • Proactively seek market intelligence to gain competitive advantage in attraction, assessment and sourcing methodologies.
  • Act as company representative at recruitment events in the community, at schools, at public and private employment agencies and placement offices. Participates on committees and boards as requested.
  • Recruit, screen and perform reference checks and background checks (where applicable) on qualified candidates in preparation for referral to hiring managers. Determines eligibility for hire and rehire prior to referral to department manager. Reviews personnel files and system records for prior employees to determine suitability for rehire.
  • Conduct interviews for qualified applicants in concert with requesting departments, exchanging interview summary notes related to qualifications before and after each interview. Supports departments with interviews where needed including assisting with the development of interview questions and templates.
  • Keep all parties (department, applicant recruiting sources, etc.) informed as to progress of recruitment and placement efforts.
  • With VP of Human Resources approval, make official offers of appointment including starting salary within established compensation plans.
  • Counsel applicants concerning company benefits and perks and maintains a working knowledge of updates and changes to benefits that would impact recruitment efforts and collateral material.
  • Ensure efficient closing of the offer process and scheduling for orientation, physicals, drug screens, etc.
  • Administer and submit all hiring paperwork and create employee files for new employees.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Human Resources preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in recruitment or a human resources-related capacity.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in effective collaboration, communication, and negotiation.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws that impact recruitment.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and utilize information in a skillful manner.
  • Capacity to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
