Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
  • Lead and coordinate the production and delivery of CBIZ Tax National Training programs, with a continuing focus on the development of next-generation training curriculum
  • Liaise with NTO operations team and L&D team as needed
  • Collaborate with NTO directors to perform tax technical research and analyses of complex client tax issues from client service professionals across a broad spectrum of federal tax practice areas
  • Participate in data mining initiatives to identify segments of the client base that are ideal candidates for various tax planning ideas and solutions
  • Monitor daily news services for legislative, administrative, and judicial developments of interest that should be communicated internally and externally
  • Hone reading and writing skills to participate in the development thought leadership for both internal and external clients and interface with professionals within various tax technical groups
  • Participate in needs analyses, stakeholder discussions, and policy development
  • Participate in the distribution, management and evaluation of specified policies, and assist with annual "tax quality review" processes for selected offices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree of Taxation or LLM desired
  • 6 years Public Accounting or Legal experience with a tax focus
  • High degree of self-motivation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effective English language speaking and writing skills
  • Willingness to learn and be challenged
  • Possesses excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Displays sound business and professional judgment
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines
  • Able to supervise and motivate team members remotely
  • Proficient use of tax technology (e.g., CCH Axcess Tax (or ProSystem), CaseWare, various workflow and document management systems)
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 3 years supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
  • Must be comfortable working independently (remote), and as part of a team
  • Proficient use of non-tax technology (e.g., MS Office suite of software, including extensive proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point)
