Position Overview

Under general direction, the position serves as a point of contact for assigned field and functional areas and assists in coaching and consulting managers, leaders, and employees on issues related to team relations; including, performance improvement plans (PIPs), corrective action records (CARs), and Ethics Helpline complaints, etc. In addition, the position will conduct ethics investigations as needed for functional areas. Prepares reports to monitor, assess trends, and propose improvement plans related to activity. Perform routine audits of employee relations activities to identify team relation issues and trends. Position will partners closely with HR Support Services to ensure seamless work alignment between teams.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establishes trusted partnering relationships with key stakeholders and with external parties.
  • Leads and/or supports processes and activities within employee relations knowledge management including design, layout, content communications, and enhancements
  • Assists with training and development of employees, managers, and leaders on employee relations processes, and audits
  • Collaborates across HR function and company to provide employee relations materials and support on team relations concerns.
  • Coach and consulting managers and employees in the resolution of employee issues and grievances. Activities may include conducting preliminary interviews, documenting findings/recommendations, and advising managers on dealing with employee performance issues using authorized processes.
  • Coach and consult managers and employees on approach and application of correction actions related to employees and managers; including PIPs, CARs, etc.
  • Reviewing, approving, and filing disciplinary action cases, including disciplinary action for managers.
  • Investigate and manage Ethics Helpline HR complaints to assigned areas.
  • Running, producing, and distributing information and statistical/operational reports for the employee relations function
  • Responding to routine inquiries from managers and employees regarding team relations programs or services.
  • Partner with Legal, Internal Audit, and HR functions to develop, review, and update team relations policies, practices, and procedures
  • Consults with management to ensure programs and content are current and aligned with business needs and goals
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, Psychology or a related discipline; JD or Masters Degree preferred
  • Generally 3+ years of Human Resources experience with knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations; including EEO, DOL, FLSA, NLRA, WARN, labor and employment laws
  • Ability to understand statistical inferences and metrics
  • Solid analytical skills

  • Technical expertise with state and federal regulations regarding AAP, EEO, OFCCP, FLSA, WARN, NLRB, DOL, EEV, Immigration preferred

  • Move up to 10 pounds occasionally, by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects.

  • Fingering and Repetitive motions; such as movement of wrists, hands and fingers while picking, pinching and typing during your normal working environment.
  • Express or exchange ideas with others through the use of spoken word, quickly, accurately, and at an easily audible volume, and receive detailed information through oral communication at usual speaking levels without correction, and/or make fine discriminations in the nature of sounds in the environment.
Incumbent is required to have:
  • Close visual acuity to perform detail oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm's reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.
Incumbent will be subject to:
  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
