Job Description:

Everest Re Group, Ltd. ("Everest") is seeking a Technical Data Steward to drive the execution of our Global Data Strategy. In this highly visible position, you will apply strong technical acumen and leadership to partner with business counterparts to effectively define, plan, and deliver technical solutions that support strategic business outcomes. This role will enable you to become a strong engineering leader across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver enabling capabilities to support the rapid ingestion of metadata and the timely deployment of enterprise data catalog and business glossary using Collibra.
  • Support the development of data governance, metadata management, stewardship capabilities, and methods in a cloud-first environment that leverages highly automated DevOps tools and capabilities.
  • Develop, lead, and execute on data governance technology strategies and roadmaps to optimize rapid delivery of information management capabilities, while aligning to established technology and architecture standards.
  • Lead technology activities to enable the delivery of meaningful, data-driven capabilities in alignment with business strategies.
  • Partner and work collaboratively with internal customers to understand strategic analytics needs, business intelligence needs, and technology requirements.
  • Define and deliver data & analytics architecture, tooling, and capabilities needed to enable a modern cloud-based data environment.
  • Manage, engage, and coordination across delivery teams to ensure high quality project delivery within scope, timeframe, and budgets.
  • Create confidence in our data quality across our go-to-market functions through data, technology, process infrastructure, and governance.
  • Be cross-functional in a high-impact role that requires a keen sense of ownership and drive.
  • Have strong analytical and project management skills, enabling key business stakeholders to understand requirements, provide options, and drive solid execution.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science
  • Direct experience with Collibra Data Governance Center (Collibra DGC)
  • 2+ years in the data governance space with experience delivering enhanced analytic and data access capabilities
  • Understanding of data governance theories and principles
  • Experience working in metadata management and data quality management
  • Experience with advanced functional programming (SQL, Scala, Python)
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies (MS Azure, Spark, Kafka, Databricks)

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge/experience within the reinsurance, insurance, or financial services industry
  • Data governance/data management certifications
  • Experience with master data management and reference data management is a plus
  • Practitioner of agile or scaled agile

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $95k-125k annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
