Job Overview:

A Data Architect is a hands-on leader that will provide technical expertise to guide and mentor data development teams on methodologies, processes and best practices on cloud data architectures, data science platforms, event-driven architecture, and API-enabled data services in the manufacturing business domain.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that support and enhance business and technologies strategies.
  • Design and own the way real-time data is consumed, stored, and analyzed.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects to design complex data models and data pipelines across various internal products/systems/tech stacks within the ecosystem to solve problems focused on operational, analytical, and product use-cases.
  • Own and build systems or processes to facilitate ecosystem wide data quality adherence.
  • Analyze, architect, design, and actively develop analytics frameworks, data lakes, and other cloud-based data solutions in AWS.
  • Identify architectural risks, create risk mitigation plans, establish best practices and standards in building optimal infrastructure/data structures to support best in class data solutions, dashboards, and reports.
  • Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data, auditing/logging and analytical requirements and effectively communicate and influence future state architectures, leading by example.
  • Assess the data architecture currently in place and work with technical staff to improve it.
  • Monitors and analyzes industry technology trends, internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues to determine their potential impact or application for the organization and apply that knowledge to architecture designs.
  • Work with engineering teams to collect required data from internal and external systems. Coach and mentor team members to improve their designs and ETL processes.
  • Work side-by-side with other architects and independently drive projects from inception, specification, execution, or to launch.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent working experience.
  • 8+ years of business intelligence experience with 5+ years as a lead developer or architect role.
  • Strong interpersonal written, and verbal communication skills.

Technologies:
  • Programming languages such as Scala, Python, R, Java.
  • Experience with traditional relational databases, graph databases, NoSQL databases and/or distributed systems such as BigQuery, Redshift.
  • Workflow management tools such as Airflow
  • Integration tools such as Mulesoft.
  • Data exploration and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Streaming platforms such as Spark, Kinesis.
