The Technology & Innovation (T&I) Manager is responsible for leading, managing and executing Technology and Innovation (T&I) projects and managing the associated technical team. The role includes the development of new processes and products, as well as their scale-up and successful handover to Operations using the Stage Gate protocol. The manager is responsible for safety, as well as the financial aspects of the project/team.

You Will Have the Opportunity to:

  • Manage, lead and motivate the local T&I team, which consists of a diverse group of individuals responsible for driving T&I results across supported product lines.
  • Play an active role in the creation of development plans and support career path progression for the team.
  • Drive leadership through managing and driving change and the adoption of T&I changes throughout the local manufacturing facility
  • Manage successful execution of T&I projects, providing technical expertise, direction and hands-on support as required
  • Drive projects using Stage Gate protocol and sound scientific problem solving, including documentation requirements, Stage Gate reviews, and product/process launch
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales for customer collaboration to understand and support the Voice of the Customer and ensure timely delivery of new product/process prototypes to customers
  • Actively participates in industry trade groups, consortia, and associations to reinforce Materion Advanced Materials as a supplier of leading technology solutions to the semiconductor, electronic packaging, LCD Display, Photovoltaic and PVD glass coating industries.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant material science or engineering field. Advanced degree in MS, PhD, and or MBA preferred.
  • 5 years' minimum of relevant professional experience; experience in technical leadership position preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead technical projects and teams
  • Familiarity with stage-gate and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Extensive semiconductor materials and process development or electronic packaging materials and process development experience preferred.
  • Prior global responsibilities - including work with and or management of a global team preferred.
  • Willingness to travel regularly internationally and domestically (up to 30%).
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
