The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Temporary Research Assistant, Diverse Doctorates in Business! The Diverse Doctorates in Business Program is an effort by Leeds School of Business as well as business schools at CU-Denver, and UCCS to encourage diverse sophomores, juniors, and seniors to consider a career as a business school professor and plug into faculty research to pave the way to application to top PhD programs!

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


As a participant in the Diverse Doctorates Program as a Research Assistant, supporting on a specific faculty project. The various projects are as follows:

Accounting (with Sarah Zechman and Nathan Marshall)

Title: How Do Firms Choose Informal Channels to Communicate Their Business Outlook? (This project is in a remote work situation.)

INFORMATION SYSTEMS (OLIA) (with David Dobolyi)

Title: AI Detection of Illegal Commercial Intent in Influencer Marketing. (The modality of this project is flexible and suitable to hybrid or remote-only options.)

Marketing

Title Project #1: How technology affects people’s experiences and memories (This position is in a hybrid work situation.) (with Alixandra Barasch)

Title Project #2: Consumer, manager, and investors' reactions to gun violence: The impact of beliefs about business's role in society. (This project is in a remote work situation.) (with Lawrence Williams)

Title Project #3: Marketing Communications and Social Movement. (This research is being performed in hybrid work modality or in person.) (with Liu Liu)

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP (OLIA) (with Rebecca Mitchell)

Title Project #1: Experiences of BIPOC Individuals in University DEI Training. (This project is working fully in-person.) (with

Title Project #2: Individual-Level versus System Level Interventions to Combat Workplace Discrimination (This project is working in a hybrid or remote capacity.)

STRATEGY & ENTREPRENEURSHIP (SEO)

Title Project #1: Serendipitous Innovations in the Biopharmaceutical Industry. (The research can be conducted in hybrid mode, with regular meetings on zoom and sharing of data and feedback through online collaborative applications.) (with Sina Khoshsokhan)

Title Project #2: Underrepresented Entrepreneurs and Funding Outcomes. (This project is working in a hybrid or remote capacity.) (with Ethan Poskanzer)

Title Project #3: Marine Energy. (This project is working in a hybrid or remote capacity.) (with Jeff York)

OPERATIONS RESEARCH (SEO) (with Rui Zhang)

Title: Machine Learning in Amazon Last-Mile Delivery Challenge

The hiring range for this temporary appointment is $15 - 20 per hour.


Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

  • Bachelor's Degree or current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.


What You Will Need

  • Applicants must be familiar with Excel, have outstanding organizational and analytical skills, be very meticulous, and be able to work independently. Applicants must also be comfortable interacting with participants in field studies (talking with strangers in public places), and have excellent interpersonal and English skills. Students should be reliable and punctual, and also be easily accessible for communications (i.e., timely email response and phone calls), especially when studies are running.
