Darling Ingredients is seeking a Territory Sales / Procurement Representative to join our dedicated team in the Amarillo, TX area. This position will be a remote based position, but will require regular travel to an assigned territory in an assigned region.

Job Summary:

To solicit new raw material accounts, maintain existing account relationships, verifying continuity of service for accounts, and growing existing accounts in a specific territory in an effort to increase the overall account base.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sales plans, activity and status reports for specified territory;
  • Effectively present and sell company services to current and potential customers;
  • Develop and follow up on leads and referrals from field activity in a timely manner to grow the business;
  • Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations, proposals and sales contracts to secure new and existing business;
  • Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales;
  • Prepare and deliver all required documentation to setup and maintain customer accounts;
  • Support the collection of payment for services as appropriate;
  • Support the on-going maintenance if established accounts to resolve issues such as service frequency, delivery schedules, etc.;
  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff;
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, territorial blitzes, and trade shows;
  • Support the sales team by assisting in the training and development of new sales reps and provide coverage of other sales territories for vacations and other absences;
  • Maintain company provided vehicle used in the execution of responsibilities;
  • Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Extensive sales experience may be considered in lieu of education, however, some education beyond high school is required
  • Proven track record in sales with 3 to 5 years of successful new business development experience
  • Drive, determination, disciplined self-starter, and goal and results oriented
  • Ability to build effective business relationships both inside and outside the organization and with all levels of an organization is essential
  • Above average computer skills in a networked environment with knowledge of MS Office products
  • Must have and be able to maintain a driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field is preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 35 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Work requires significant local travel to current and potential clients.
  • Typically works in a home office environment.
  • Will regularly visit the rendering and transportation facilities.
  • The noise level is usually moderate to loud.
