Presently, our HORIBA Scientific OEM Division is searching for an experienced Test Engineer for our North American operation located in Piscataway, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will join our OEM R&D team and contribute to its continued success with his/her proven test and measurement background helping to transition various electronic board assemblies to volume production that are associated with our analytical instruments and CCD/CMOS camera products used in both spectroscopy and imaging applications. Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Technology or a related field
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of related experience
  • Will accept 5 to 10 years of equivalent test experience of electronic circuit boards using surface mount and thru-hole components.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the design of test circuits to validate electronic board assemblies used in CCD/CMOS cameras.
  • Design, document, and maintain automated test fixtures for volume electronic board turn-key manufacturing environment.
  • Contribute to test methods and procedures needed to transition products from design into volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with internal electrical design team and external contract MFG to identify, define, and resolve test issues.
  • Analyze and interpret test results to identify design and/or test-related problems.

Requirements:
  • Understanding electrical engineering principles in both analog and digital circuits.
  • Experience with specifications, schematics, drawings, and datasheets.
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal circuits involving Op-Amps, Voltage References, LDOs, DACs, ADCs, and discrete parts.
  • Experience with functional testing of analog, digital, and power circuits at the circuit board level.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in circuit design for tests and validation.
  • Familiarity with test equipment including Oscilloscopes, DVMs, Power Supplies, and Function Generators.
  • Soldering experience with both thru-hole and SMT.
  • Sound test & troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
  • Testing knowledge of electronic boards used in CCD/CMOS camera products.
  • Experience testing densely populated surface mount electronic boards.
  • Exposure to LabVIEW programming is a plus.
