Vertiv is hiring a Tools Engineer in Westerville, OH to drive efficient best practices for our edge software tools. They will represent our field services organization providing new tools for new product development. This position will use the design for service principles to ensure that safety, serviceability, and service business goals are met. The position will liaison with global Project Management Office (PMO) and service operation to successfully deploy tools. This position will collaborate with global technical leads to ensure consistency in execution and service readiness for service tools and products.

Responsibilities:

Efficiency Tools

• Represent North America team within the Global Business unit for tool requirement gatherings and development.
• Lead deployment of the Efficiency Tools like Connected Customer Engineer (CE). Lead field User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment planning, and training.
• Work with developers of the Connected CE platform for knowledge migration and development.
• Support North America electronic form development and test for conformity.
• Support migration of electronic forms to Connected CE platform.
• Review and approve UAT script, testing schedule, and provide feedback to developers.
• Interface with Research & Development (R&D) Engineering and Product Management for service readiness of tools required for new products.
• Develop service operational and troubleshooting procedures required for new tool.
• Seek new technology to bring efficiency and time savings utilizing enhanced tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of four years technical degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent training and experience. Electrical or HVAC trade degree inclusive of military background is a plus.
• Minimum of three years of field service.
• Experience in data center power equipment is a must.
• Ability to communicate and present material to Executive Management.
• Possess a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Proficient PC skills including all Microsoft Office products and web-based technologies.

Working Conditions

• Minimum 10% Domestic and international Travel Required
