This role will report to the Director of Trade Compliance and will be focused on ensuring Arm's technology portfolio and development lifecycle adhere to U.S., UK, and other applicable export controls.

Based in Austin, Texas, the ideal candidate will be the person who enjoys learning about new and emerging technologies, problem solving, confronting challenges with an open mind, and working collaboratively or independently depending on the project. The individual in this role should be comfortable handling multiple projects simultaneously and embrace cross-functional projects.
Responsibilities:

This role will partner with organizations across Arm to oversee Arm's technology portfolio from an export control perspective, with particular emphasis on ensuring export controls governing the transfer of controlled technology within and outside the US and UK.

  • Act as the Trade Compliance voice across the company to evangelize export requirements impacting Arm's technology portfolio and the diversity of development and delivery environments (on-prem, cloud, collaboration systems)
  • Provide export control oversight of the Arm technology portfolio and product roadmap
  • Implement policies, processes, and training to fully integrate trade compliance requirements into the product development and delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure continuity and scalability as Arm adopts new business models and programs
  • Perform import and export classification determinations of Arm products and 3rd party products in accordance with US, UK and other applicable regulations
  • Use expertise and knowledge of microprocessor, semiconductor, encryption, and emerging technologies to support classification process and drive continuous improvement
  • Prepare and submit required product filings (eg, CCATS, ANSSI filings, Israel MOD filings)
  • Drive technology transfer and deemed export licensing requirements
  • Maintain the Technology Control Plan (TCP)
  • Conduct product origin reviews for export and customs purposes
  • Support Trade Compliance Operations globally
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining trade compliance manuals
Required Skills
Required Experience
  • B.A./B.S. or other relevant degree
  • 10+ years of relevant working experience in technology industry and trade compliance
  • Previous experience in the semiconductor or software development industry
  • Strong knowledge of Categories 3, 4, and 5 Part 2
  • Strong working knowledge of US and UK export regulations and dual use controls
  • Expertise in data manipulation and report writing
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office and ERP tools
