General Statement of Duties:

In this role, you will work closely with many different stakeholders to compile, refresh, and ensure delivery of substantial compliance and existing training and development content, while also helping us identify training needs and build internally-focused training. The Training & Employee Development Specialist develops training programs in order to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of employees. Once curriculum is designed, Training & Employee Development Specialist is responsible for administering, tracking and maintaining audit records to achieve overall goals of the organization.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meets with business partners to perform a needs analysis of the business unit to determine what knowledge, skills and abilities need to be enhanced
  • Coordinate efforts with other departments (e.g., HR, Compliance, AML/BSA, Security Office, IT) that have their own required trainings (e.g., annual IT security training, annual insider threat training).
  • Support the deployment of learning programs including uploading and updating courseware and curriculum from the learning management system (LMS), training assignments, learner notification communication and rules in LMS.
  • Utilize LMS reporting capabilities and developing custom reports to assist with audit and record retention while managing the company's training and development initiatives.
  • Manage eLearning content from vendors to ensure it is compatible with the LMS.
  • Work with management, department SMEs and IT to support eLearning content requirements.
  • Assist in the development of training programs in-house, based on the needs previously identified
  • Run demos of the system and provide training to individuals and users groups.
  • Ensure that participants are registered for upcoming Trainings and perform reconciliation function of reports and transcripts as needed
  • May spend 25% of the time facilitating live and recorded learning.
  • May spend 25% of the time delivering training programs for new and experienced employees using appropriate deployment methods including classroom-facilitated, web-based and self-study
  • May spend 25% of the time facilitating workshops for the organization
  • Assesses and updates current training programs with regard to policy and legal updates and determines best way to address any learning and performance gaps
  • Communicates and handles course reminders for the entire Bank
  • Administrate and maintain Computer Based Training curriculum for entire Bank
  • Communicates training strategies, initiatives and activities to different levels within the organization based on predetermined guidelines
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Maintains all levels of management training reports
  • Maintains Training Calendar for the Organization
  • Other duties may be assigned by Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience administering a Learning Management System, HRIS system, or similar platform

• 1+ years of experience in an administrative or project-based role; experience managing projects highly desirable

• Exposure to education and training methods, practices, and technologies

• Experience with customer service and working in cross-functional teams

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, prioritize, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines

• Meticulous attention to detail in the creation and iteration of work

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to see the big picture among great levels of details

• Keen desire to improve processes and drive efficiency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to display leadership without positional authority

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide array of people

• Strong project management skills (e.g., creating plans and schedules, coordinating activities of others, leading ad hoc teams)

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Confidence and maturity to interact effectively with staff of all levels

• Basic knowledge of constructing surveys and understanding survey results

• Excellent written communication skills

• Excellent oral communication skills, including presentation skills

• Familiar with Microsoft Office 365 tools and applications (e.g., Teams)

• Able to use Excel to create spreadsheets, manipulate data (e.g., sort, filter), and use mathematical functions (e.g., counting, matching, descriptive statistics)

• Familiar with at least one Learning Management System/Application

• Proven experience in designing and delivering training in a corporate environment

• Adequate knowledge of learning management software
