Primary Responsibility / Summary

Schedules drivers, Transportation Workers, and equipment related to the movement of the agency's materials and personnel to achieve established goals for route effectiveness, equipment safety, customer service, payroll, compliance and expense control.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Coordinates timely and efficient routing and dispatching of trucks and buses.

2. Works cooperatively with all agency departments to ensure transportation needs are met.

3. Evaluates route effectiveness and adjusts routes as needed.

4. Provides input on transportation staff training.

5. Assists in maintenance tracking to ensure that the fleet is in good working order at all times

6. Prepares and maintains accounting and timekeeping records

7. Utilizes Teletrac System to monitor truck routes

8. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • 2-5 years of dispatcher experience.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred

  • Possesses a valid driver's license.

  • This position may require some travel.

  • Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

  • Ability to work without supervision.

  • Spanish / English bilingual preferred.

  • Acceptable DMV record with no more than 2 points.

  • Punctual and dependable attendance.

  • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.

  • Understands the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participates fully in carrying out its mission.
