Job SummaryPart-time 20 hours per week non-exempt positions which report to the Director of the Educational Talent Search program. Instructors will work for two weeks, Monday through Thursday.
Math-
* Provide instruction in mathematics topics.
Science, English and Life Skills-
* Provide instruction in scientific investigation in subject/content.
Responsibilities
Math-
* Demonstrate mathematical concepts using models, overhead projector, and other standard or teacher-prepared instructional aides that support students' strengths, group interaction, and real-world application.
* Design and implement a course syllabus that effectively outlines daily concepts covered, in-class & home assignments, quizzes, group work, projects, and post-assessment.
* Create a culminating project that requires each student to present a concept discussed in the course (Oral/Visual presentation).
* Establish classroom management policies and procedures needed to maintain a productive and positive classroom environment.
* Work with Educational Talent Search staff to integrate special subject lessons and activities with the core academic curriculum.
* Participate in Educational Talent Search teacher staff meetings.
* Attend teacher orientation/planning session(s), program activities, & final teacher evaluation closing session.
* Perform other related duties as needed.
Science-

Required Qualifications Applicants for this position must have a bachelor's degree in a related subject area. The applicant must be able to work with and understand diverse and underserved students. Proposed Salary Instructors will work for two weeks, Monday through Thursday, up to 20 hours a week. Available grant funds up to $2000 for both weeks.
