Description:

This individual is responsible for performing Ultrasound exams and utilizing diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmia recognition. Contribute to efficient operations of the SMH Radiology department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care.

The candidate for this critical role also uses critical thinking skills to resolvecomplex procedural situations & ability to handle emergency high stress situations during high risk procedures.

Work Hours/Shift:
  • Per Diem - Rotating Shifts

You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Exceptional Patient Care: Must understand we exist for the patients and make their care the number one priority.
  • Excellent Communicator: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with colleagues, patients and family member.
  • Strong Educator: Educate patients and family members so that they have a transparent understanding of the care being provided.
  • Technical Familiarity: Understanding in computer-based applications, email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office.
  • Active Teamwork: Demonstrates problem solving, conflict resolution, and positive communication through teamwork.

Requirements:
  • Education: Completion of Certified Ultrasound program; Associates Degree. Must have Abdomen certification (ABD) at time of hire.
  • Licensure: RDMS Certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience: Two years working in a Sonographer capacity required or a student that has graduated from an approved Ultrasound program and is eligible to take their boards.
