Aerostar SES LLC (ASL) is growing! We are seeking a fast-paced, proactive Validation Chemist II that excels in their area of expertise to join ASL. In this key role, you'll perform analytical data validation and data usability assessments under project-specified state and/or federal regulatory programs. Responsibilities

  • Perform data validation and preparation of data validation reports (DVRs) in compliance with DoD Validation Guidelines.
  • Verify all validation qualifiers and reason codes have been entered into the database and a quality control review has been conducted.
  • Assist in environmental sample planning and the development of Uniform Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPP).
  • Perform quality control reviews of preliminary and final analytical data packages.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and field staff on field data collection issues and act as a point-of-contact on analytical data matters for the project team and analytical laboratories throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate with analytical laboratories to coordinate analyses and address data quality issues.
  • Develop scopes of work for laboratories based on contract type and requirements of the project.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry and ten (10) or more years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with US EPA methods for the preparation and analysis of environmental samples, especially PFAS methodology.
  • Ability to review environmental laboratory data for completeness; correctness; compliance against the published analytical methods.
  • Ability to assess data usability utilizing US EPA and DoD data validation guidelines, and Quality Assurance Project Plans.
  • Experience with DoD Quality Systems Manual.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously effectively and efficiently with precision and adapt to changes in responsibilities and workloads.
  • As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An advanced degree or additional years of experience with data validation or in chemistry is ideal.
  • Experience with databases and/or environmental data management software, including Access, EQuIS, EQuIS Collect, and/or EQuIS DQM is a plus.
  • Experience in working with government clients is desirable.
  • Experience with emerging contaminants is also desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunities to move about. Near visual acuity to review documentation, ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels. Must maintain a constant state of mental alertness at all times. Working Environment

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting.

Compensation

$65,000 - $80,000 yearly
