VCA Carrollwood Cat Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician / CVT to join our team.

We are a well-established, 2-doctor feline-exclusive hospital, committed to exceptional client care and compassionate care for our our patients. We are a tight-knit group that values our personal relationships and teamwork. Work/life balance is an important part of our culture.

We are open Monday through Friday 7:30am - 6pm, Saturdays 7:30am - 4pm, closed on Sundays. Compensation for CVTs starts in the high teens up to $22 per hour based on level of skill, experience, relevant education and credentials.

About the Role

As Veterinary Technician / CVT, you will support the doctor and team by communicating with clients, completing patient treatments, assisting in surgery, all other animal care functions and tasks involved in the operations of a veterinary hospital.

Job functions and responsibilities include duties in the following areas:

  • Housekeeping/Maintenance
  • Examinations/Assessments
  • Record Keeping

  • Radiology
  • Dentistry
  • Laboratory
  • Pharmacy
  • Technician training
  • Emergency care
  • Direct and guide veterinary assistants, including kennel attendants and bathers
  • Marketing support

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility.
  • College or college-equivalent education as required for Certified Veterinary Technician credentialing preferred.
  • Friendly, outgoing, "people oriented."
  • Capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties.
  • Telephone and computer skills.
  • A team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and open to change.
