Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Vulcraft-Verco Group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Manager - Process Automation. The successful candidate will be a leader capable of ensuring that Nucor Vulcraft-Verco Group delivers on our commitment to become the world's safest steel company by providing automation solutions and artificial intelligence options to our division leadership teams. The successful candidate will be required to provide structure and process controls around capital expenditure justifications, providing support to the VVG GM's and divisional leadership teams, while working in tandem with the corporate construction team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: establishing a clear vision and strategy that will allow the teams to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental; partnering with all divisions to drive continuous improvement, centered around automation and artificial intelligence; remaining aware of emerging technologies with an eye towards process improvements related to safety, quality, and productivity. The successful candidate will also partner with the talent team to help establish marketing and branding synergies that pull in process automation talent across the enterprise. This position will be based out of one of our existing VVG divisions and will require travel to attend trade shows and meet with suppliers, vendors, and other divisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least three years of maintenance, operations, or plant engineering leadership experience
• Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Developing/Building Teams - Coordinating cross-functional teams, encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members, and effectively managing and resolving conflict as needed.
• Accountability/Dependability: Monitoring/assessing performance of self, displays reliability/responsibility with work habits, is committed to fulfilling obligations, and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results.
• Business Acumen: General business knowledge and an understanding of how Nucor makes money.
• Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, recruiting, and coordination of people and resources.

The position will be based out of an existing VVG division.

Preferences:

• Vulcraft joist production experience
• Previous experience with preventative and predictive maintenance and artificial intelligence.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience.
