Summary:

Primary responsibility is to weigh and measure product and enter the data into the Cubing Database. Analyze product for put-away, and notify Quality of any recommended non-standard orientation on shelves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visually assess products to determine the best storage method in racks.
  • Create a category timeline to capture all SKU’s currently active across all categories currently not containing dimensions (i.e. web/storage)
  • Capture dimensions, weight and product dimensions to ensure accurately re-corded in PIM, update if necessary.
  • Working to validate dimensions and update PIM on a weekly basis.
  • Create reporting to identify gaps and progress.
  • Use dimensions and weight of product to make recommendations on stacking of product.
  • Working with the DC Planning Manager and Receiving Manager to recommend to Quality those items that can be stored in an orientation other than the one recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Recommend put-away and storage orientation on shelf on a SKU basis.
  • Analyze collected data and make recommendations on put away strategy by product line.

    Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma; College degree preferred
    • Years of experience: 2-3 years of experience in a Warehouse Distribution Center
    • Computer proficiency: proficient in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar suite
    • Dedicated to business and willing to adjust schedule and hours as needed to manage department

    Essential Functions of the Position:
    • Work involves frequent periods of standing and walking, which may include climbing ladders and staircases, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting/turning and reaching; bending at the waist
    • Repetitive movements.
    • No physical limitations that limit the ability to carry and move furniture weighing up to 175 pounds.
    • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
    • Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment.
