Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast growing commercial insurance company, has a need for a Workers' Compensation Claims Supervisor. The WC Claims Supervisor works with the Claim Adjusters to manage and ensure the Workers' Compensation claims activities are being handled within the Amtrust Best Practices, develop and maintain professional customer and broker relations by identifying and meeting customer needs. Ensures that staff demonstrates customer service principles.

Responsibilities

  • Secures, evaluates and develops staff. Ensures that staff works effectively as a team.
  • Keeps diary for all cases assigned to team and guides adjusting team to best outcome.
  • Ensures that all AmTrust policies, procedures and controls are followed.
  • Identifies opportunity areas and coaches staff to enhance performance.
  • Works with the staff to ensure that approved vendors are being used and that they are providing quality service and results.
  • Work with management on monitoring claims, ensuring pro-active cost-effective and creative cost management.
  • Work with staff to manage litigation and the negotiation of claims settlements.
  • Evaluates the performance of the claims staff at regular intervals to ensure the consistent implementation of company standards and internal quality control, by conducting audits.
  • Maintains current knowledge of related laws and regulations and communicates to staff.
  • Performs other projects as assigned


Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent.

  • Five plus years of progressive management plus required examiner experience within Workers' Compensation insurance industry.

  • Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.

  • NYS adjusting license required.
