Posting Summary:

Supervise and schedule own work and that of skilled and semi-skilled tradespersons in order to maintain all building systems and components (electrical, HVAC/plumbing) for University buildings and facilities. Oversee highly skilled maintenance repairs, emergency service and preventative maintenance. Assign, schedule, coordinate and review job assignments. Instruct personnel concerning assignments and inspect work to ensure that is it performed in a productive, safe and satisfactory manner. Ensure all personnel remain proficient in trades by coordinating training. Responsible for code compliance and regulatory compliance of applicable codes, UVM policies and Union contracts. In conjunction with Zone Manager, select, promote, motivate and discipline personnel. Ensure the most efficient use of all Physical Plant resources. Access information utilizing software applications. Promote a workplace which encourages safety within the field and shop. Operate University vehicle. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience. Reports to Zone Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):

High school diploma and Masters license and six years of experience in two or more skilled trades required OR Associate's degree in engineering, facilities management, or construction management and five years of experience in facilities/maintenance required. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations required. Demonstrated ability to read/Interpret specifications. Experience using computers and mobile technology required. Valid driver's license and driver check required. Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing specific job tasks. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.
